Club Rules & Etiquette

To ensure an enjoyable and safe experience for all our guests and to maintain the quality of our course, we ask that you observe the following rules and standards of etiquette. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

I. DRESS CODE

Appropriate golf attire is required for all players on the golf course, practice facilities, and in the clubhouse. We strive to maintain a standard of dress suitable for the game of golf.

  • Required: Golf shirts (collared or mock neck), golf slacks, or golf shorts/skirts/skorts of appropriate length are considered standard.

  • Not Permitted: The following attire is considered unsuitable and is not allowed:

    • T-shirts (crew neck, graphic tees)
    • Tank tops, halter tops, spaghetti straps
    • Swimwear
    • Gym shorts, athletic sweatpants
    • Mini-shorts or mini-skirts
    • Jeans that are ripped, torn, frayed, or unclean
  • Enforcement: Our staff is authorized to enforce the dress code. Guests not adhering to these standards may be asked to change or denied access to golf facilities but can always enjoy the Paradise Pines Restaurant. If unsure, please inquire at the Pro Shop before your round.

II. FOOTWEAR

Proper footwear is essential for your safety and the protection of the course.

  • Acceptable: Golf shoes with soft spikes or spikeless golf shoes are recommended. Clean, appropriate athletic or running shoes are also permitted.
  • Prohibited:
    • Metal spikes are strictly forbidden on the golf course and anywhere in the Clubhouse to protect our greens and facilities.
    • Boots (including cowboy boots), sandals, flip-flops, dress shoes, or high heels are not permitted on the golf course.

III. TEE TIME CANCELLATIONS & NO-SHOWS

We understand that plans can change. To manage our tee sheet effectively, please adhere to the following cancellation policy:

  • Notice Required: We require a minimum of 12 hours' notice prior to your scheduled tee time for any cancellations or reductions in the number of players.
  • Late Cancellations / No-Shows: If a cancellation or reduction occurs within 12 hours of the scheduled tee time, or if players fail to arrive for their booking (a 'no-show'), a penalty fee of $49.00 (plus applicable taxes) per booked player will be charged to the credit card on file.
  • Responsibility: The individual who made the primary booking is responsible for ensuring all players in their group are aware of this policy and for any fees incurred due to late cancellations or no-shows.

IV. COURSE RULES & GOLF ETIQUETTE

Observing proper golf etiquette and course rules ensures safety, maintains the pace of play, protects the course, and enhances everyone's enjoyment. No one is exempt from these standards.

  • Safety First:

    • Never hit your shot until you are certain the group ahead is safely out of range.
    • Be aware of other players and course maintenance staff at all times. Shout "FORE!" immediately if your ball is heading towards another person.
  • Pace of Play:

    • Keep Up: Your position on the course is directly behind the group in front of you, not directly ahead of the group behind you. Maintain pace with the group ahead. Player Assistants may ask groups to speed up or skip a hole if they fall behind pace.
    • Play 'Ready Golf': Be prepared to play when it's your turn. Select your club, plan your shot, and minimize practice swings while others are hitting.
    • Efficient Movement: Proceed quickly to your ball. Limit search time for lost balls to a reasonable duration (as per official rules, 2 minutes maximum).
    • Green Etiquette: Once all players in your group have holed out, immediately replace the flagstick and move promptly to the next tee before recording scores or discussing the hole.
  • Course Care:

Help us keep the course in great condition by doing the followiong while playing:

    • Repair Divots: Replace your divots on fairways and tee boxes, or use the provided sand/seed mix to fill them.
    • Repair Ball Marks: Properly repair your ball marks (and any others you see) on the putting greens.
    • Rake Bunkers: Smooth out all footprints and shot disturbances after playing from a bunker. Leave rakes as directed by course signage (either inside or outside bunkers).
    • Protect Greens: Avoid leaning heavily on your putter or causing damage with shoe spikes on the greens. Keep carts and pull trolleys off the putting surfaces and away from collars and tee boxes.
    • Follow Cart Rules: Obey all directional signs for power carts. Keep carts on paths where provided. Adhere to the 90-degree rule where applicable, and avoid driving in sensitive or wet areas.

V. STANDARD OF CONDUCT

We aim to provide a welcoming, respectful, and safe environment for all golfers, guests, and staff.

  • Respect Property: All players are expected to respect the golf course, facilities, and equipment. Deliberate damage will not be tolerated.
  • Respect People: Courteous behavior is expected at all times. Abusive language, loud or disruptive behavior, harassment, or personal attacks directed towards staff, members, or other guests are strictly prohibited and may result in immediate removal from the property without refund.
  • Alcohol Policy:
    • Provincial liquor laws strictly prohibit bringing your own alcoholic beverages onto the golf course property (including parking lots).
    • All alcoholic beverages consumed on the premises must be purchased from one of our licensed food and beverage outlets.
    • Alcohol purchased on-site must remain on the property. Impaired or intoxicated individuals may be asked to leave.
  • Instructions: Players must follow all posted rules, sign,  and adhere to instructions given by course staff, including Player Assistants (Marshals). Player Assistants have full authority to enforce pace of play and course regulations.
  • Consequences: Blatant disregard for these rules, regulations, or standards of conduct may result in warnings, suspension of playing privileges, or removal from the course without refund.
